Over the next 2 weeks, we will be going through the 3 ‘stan’s’ – Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Day 48 & 49: Osh, Krygyzstan
I have seen many many mountains in my life, but so far the Pamir mountain range at that time of the day was the prettiest I’ve ever seen.
I’m pretty impressed with this pic!!!
It was quite a late night since the roads weren’t great and we had crossed the border (China-Kryzygstan border), so we reached at 3.07am! (The local time was actually 1.07am because we had entered a new time zone too!) Luckily, we had a rest day the next day!
On our rest day, we went to Sulayman-Too mountain, which is considered the most sacred pilgrimage in the whole of Krygyzstan. We went to a local bazaar (market). It was boiling hot (38 degrees) – a whopping difference from yesterday’s mountains!
Day 51, 52 & 53: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Tashkent has a wow-factor which are the buildings.
We saw a beautiful masjid – home to the oldest and smallest Quran in the world.
It was nice to stay for 3 nights in one place. We went shopping and also went swimming for 2 hours in this amazing pool.
A week in the stan’s done! Stan’s – part 2 to come soon
